Built by volunteers, for the community
In 2002, a group of visionaries headed by Dr. P. N. Sridharan set out to bring PMI's global standards to Chennai, chartering it as a non-profit component of the Project Management Institute and registering it as a society under Tamil Nadu law.
Two decades on, that founding spark has grown into a chapter run entirely by volunteer leaders - spanning Chennai and a dedicated Coimbatore branch - delivering knowledge sharing sessions, PMP & Beyond training, one-day workshops and Student Connect programs across academic institutions.
In 2025, that two-decade effort was recognized globally when PMI named Chennai its Chapter of the Year - a milestone earned through the work of hundreds of volunteers, members and partner organizations.
