Mr. V Shankar

Mr. V ShankarMr. Shankar is an Engineer from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (’81), and a Post Graduate in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (’83).

In 1988, he founded CAMS (Computer Age Management Services Pvt. Ltd.) to provide a Platform and services to the Indian Mutual Fund industry. The Company is currently co-owned by HDFC Group, NSE and Warburg Pincus.

The CAMS Group has gone through a few pivots in its history and is presently a professionally managed 7500-person strong provider of a Mutual Fund platform and associated transaction processing and CRM services to the Mutual Fund and BFSI sector in India. Mr. Shankar’s current activity involves both Public and Angel Investing, as well as mentoring for startups and mature organisations, through his investment vehicle, Acsys Investments Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. Shankar have been conferred Entrepreneur of the Year award by TIE Chennai, the Distinguished Alumnus Award by Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta and the Distinguished Alumnus Award by Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

Mr. Shankar is a Rotarian, a member of TIE Chennai, The Chennai Angels, and The Institution of Engineers. He is also the current President of TIE Chennai.
