Elections 2017: Announcement of EC Appointment & Important Dates
The Chapter’s upcoming elections are due in Arpil 2017, with the newly-elected VPs to take charge at the Chapter’s AGM on 28th May 2017.

In continuation with aligning to PMI best practices, elections are conducted every year. This year we have the following positions open for election: President, Secretary, Vice President – Finance, Vice President – Certification, Vice President – Professional Development and Vice President – Governance. Candidates for other positions will be elected in 2018.
In order to have the elections conducted in a completely professional and impartial manner, the Board of Directors (BOD) has appointed a respected, independent Election Commissioner, Mr. Subbiah Vallinayagam, who will oversee the entire process.
Please join us in congratulating Mr. Subbiah for being appointed to this important position. We thank him for volunteering to conduct the Chapter’s elections.
We firmly believe that PMI Chennai is a Chapter OF the members, FOR the members and BY the members. Loyal Members are hence THE greatest asset of our Chapter.

Here is a brief profile of Mr. Subbiah Vallinayagam:
Mr. Subbiah Vallinayagam is an Associate Delivery Director @ Cognizant Technology Solutions with overall 17+ years of IT Experience. He is a MCA graduate and a PMP and CSM as well. Mr. Subbiah started his career working for a Product development company developing products for the Universities in the US and during this stint he was stationed in many universities in the US implementing the product and doing requirement study for the Product. He later moved to Cognizant where he started off as a Project Lead handling small teams and over the years has grown to an Offshore Delivery Partner handling the complete offshore delivery for multiple clients of Cognizant. He has handled accounts spanning across the HiTech, Online and ISV space and has also setup the PMO for the team that he handles.
Mr. Subbiah finished his PMP in 2005 and has been an active contributor in the PMI community. He started volunteering for the Chennai Chapter in 2007 by redesigning the Chapter website. He has served the Chennai Chapter Board as VP – Communications, Secretary and then went on to the lead the Chapter between 2013-15. He has contributed to many initiatives in the PMI global community and is a passionate trainer as well. He contributes in conducting the PMP sessions for the Chapter and delivers sessions on various Knowledge areas. The high point of his PMI volunteering contribution was the 2012 National conference which was held in Chennai in which Mr. Subbiah was part of the core team.
A foodie and he loves to try new places to eat and does 10k runs to keep fit. An ardent follower of cricket and badminton, he still picks up a bat to get “thundu gaaji” where-ever possible.
